The church of Prophet Elias is the central church of the village of Platanias, at the eastern foot of Mount Driskos. The church is a three-aisled basilica whilst is characterized by three building phases, the last one dating back to 1938 when both the loft and the loggia that we encounter along the south side, were built.
Some of the murals of the eastern part of the church date back to the 19th century. The wooden temple with the remarkable plant and animal decoration and some of the pictures of the temple are dated at the same period.
