Ioannina is one of the landmark cities at “Run Greece”, a racing institution established by the Athletics Federation in cooperation with Regions and Municipalities throughout Greece. The first “Run Greece” race was held in Ioannina in May 2013.
Races are held under the aegis of RUN GREECE organization and aim at cultivating and promoting a lifestyle based on exercise. It is an organization that enables thousands of citizens of the region, to participate in high level competitions Participants have the unique experience of attending a sporting event which is a festivity for all the cities of the region. Furthermore, part of the money that is raised from subscriptions, is available for charities. Ioannina has been a landmark city for the organization since 2013.
