Katsaris park extends to the lakeside area of Ioannina, in the area which is known as Tampakika (tanneries). Christos Katsaris, brother of Kostas Katsaris, donor of the Cultural Center of the Company of Epirotic Studies, left a bequest in Ioannina municipality, which led to the creation of the homonymous park in the lakeside area. Next to the side of the old abattoir is now the City Cultural Center.
The first statue we encounter in the park is that of Christodoulos Sozos, mayor of Limassol, who fought and died heroically in the battle of Driskos. Sozos was chief of a Cypriots volunteers body. The next statue we encounter is that of Christos Katsaris; thanks to his bequest the restoration and formation of the lakeside park took place.
