Basically it is a part of the Treasury which was formed as a church. We should seek information from residents of the castle or the Metropolis files. The “treasure chest” is an impressive building that probably belonged to a wider assembly of Ali Pasha’s seraglios. Remains of Ali’s body were found in a short distance to the south of the building. At the western end of the south side, there is a domed opening that probably led to the next, domed space, which later formed the present church of St. Anargyri. The building was restored by the Ministry of culture, during the years 1989 to 1990 and has since hosted a permanent exhibition of silverware.
